Diffuse Thin Sheet Example

The Diffuse Thin Sheet examples consists in studing a thin sheet of permalloy divided in 2 different matters.

The sheet is rectangular with 0.01 micron of width, 0.02 micron of height & 0.001 micron of length.

The mesh constains 64 cells in X direction, 64 cells in Y direction & 4 cells in Z-direction.

The anisotropy direction U1 is uniformly in the X-direction with uniaxial crystal type in the material 0.

The anisotropy direction U1 is uniformly in the Y-direction with uniaxial crystal type in the material 1.

The initial magnetism M is oriented in the Y direction in half of the domain and in its opposite in the secund part.

The parameters of matters are as follow :

Matter 0 Matter 1
Aimantations Ms (A/m 1.7e6 3.4e6
Exchange A (J/m^3) 1.e-9 2.e-9
Anisotropy K1 (J/m^3) 4.2e4 8.4e4
L reference length (m) 5.e-9

The simulation parameters are:

relaxation taylor expansion
time optimal
relaxation rate 1.e-6
max iterations number 20 000
toeplitz vector product LC
L/Le exchange influence 4.26

All the iterations are done. At 20 000-th iteration, the variation of energy is about 1.5e-4. And the adimensionized energy decreases from 13437 to 535 as written in the log file

The value of magnetism field at equilibrium state are plot as follow:

equilibrium magnetism value along x equilibrium magnetism value along y equilibrium magnetism value along z

Note that the amplitude of the normalized magnetix field is divided by 2 in the matter 0 due to the different values of magnetization at saturation.
