General information
- Summary: All the practical informations are gathered in this well-done
document; below we develop the main points.
- Where is it ? The conference center is located in
the small ski resort of
Les Houches, in
the French Alps, on the slopes of the
Mont Blanc. It is 10 minutes away
from Chamonix and one hour from
Geneva.
- Conference center: The
workshop takes place in a
specialized conference center
(with all facilities, see
the website).
The attendants will be
accommodated in single rooms,
within the conference center. All meals will be served in the onsite
restaurant.
The center requires us to respect strictly
the hours of the restaurant - lunch at 12:30, and dinner at 19:30).
- Arrival and departure: The
workshop starts on Monday
March 25th. Participants may arrive as early as Sunday 24th afternoon at 3PM (don't come before, you would find the door closed).
The workshop ends on Friday 29th
after lunch. The school is completely closed on Friday evening.
- Registration Fees: Each participant will pay upon arrival at the conference center 425Euros of registration fees to cover all accommodation costs.
- Practical details on the venue.
Rooms are located in chalets. Access to the chalets is controlled by a code, available (together with
room assignments) inside Jacassiere, the school's main building. A map of the facilities is available here).
- Weather:
The weather can be quite cold even at this period, although snowfalls are quite unlikely. In any case, all participants should bring warm clothes and appropriate mountain shoes.
People who would like to go skiing should also bring appropriate attire.
- Ski:
It is quite likely, although not certain, that nearby ski stations (Grands Montets, Brevent-Flegere, Les Houches) will be open.
- Access of the center:

From Geneva airport, the simplest way is to use a shuttle service;
from Les Houches SNCF train station, it is the taxi, but you should definitely book in advance
(see more info on the document).
