Background

After graduating from the Ensimag school of engineering in Grenoble in 1997, I defended my PhD in Applied Mathematics at Joseph Fourier University in 2001. Since 2002, I have been an associate professor at Grenoble-INP, which is now part of UGA, university grenoble alpes. In 2010, I was with GIPSA-Lab Grenoble and after having defended my "Habilitation à diriger des recherches" in 2011, I went on sabbatical at the university of Edinburgh, Scotland (2011-2012). In 2018,
I was a visitor at the school of engineering of the university of Pisa at the "dipartimento di ingegneria dell'informazione".

Research Interests

Multiscale Image Processing: Nonlinear multiscale image representation (compression, denoising, super-resolution), splines and box splines image representation, texture analysis, image representation based on nonuniform sampling.

Wavelet Maxima Lines (1D and 2D): Signal reconstruction from extrema of wavelet decompositions, detection and estimation of transients, blob detection and characterization, robust feature extraction.

Empirical Mode Decomposition and related methods: Fast algorithm for bidimensional EMD, new approaches to EMD through constrained optimization.

Time-Frequency Analysis: Multicomponent signal analysis, synchrosqueezing techniques.
