Since September 2005, I have been an associate professor in applied mathematics at the Université Grenoble Alpes (formerly Université Pierre Mendès France). In 2001, I obtained my engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquée de Grenoble (ENSIMAG) and my Master's degree in applied mathematics from Université Joseph Fourier. In 2004, I received my PhD in applied mathematics from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble.

In 2017, I benefited from a 6-month national CRCT which allowed me to prepare my HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Research), which I defended on March 16, 2018.

Since 2019, I have been head of the research team ASAR (Applied Statistics And Reliability).

During the 2024-24 academic year, I benefited from one semester of CRCT and one semester of CNRS delegation, which enabled me to lead the development of two research projects, both of which were accepted: the chair PRISM of the Grenoble artificial intelligence cluster MIAI and PADAWAN, a PRC project of the ANR.

My research focuses on probability and statistics applied to reliability and decision-making issues for complex systems. More specifically, I am interested in:
  • - stochastic modeling for system reliability,
  • - statistical analysis of reliability models,
  • - repairable and non-repairable systems,
  • - modeling and evaluation of maintenance effects,
  • - stochastic recurrent events,
  • - stochastic degradation processes,
  • - decision making methods,
  • - asset management.

Projects

    PADAWAN

From 2026 to 2030, I am the coordinator of the project PADAWAN funded by the ANR. The objective of the project is to develop an integrated approach to modeling, data analysis, and decision-making based on multidimensional degradation processes. Six academic partners contribute to the project: LJK / UGA ; IMB / Univ. Bordeaux ; LMAP /Univ. Pau et des Pays de l'Adour ; GIPSA-lab/INP Grenoble , M2P2 / Ecole Cantrale Méditerranée ; LIST3N /UTT .

    PRISM

From 2025 to 2029, I am co-coordinator with S. Capdevielle of the chair PRISM (Predictive Risk-Informed Asset Strategic Management) of the Grenoble Artificial Intelligence Institute MIAI. The objective of the chair is to develop artificial intelligence methods for decision support in risk-based asset management, with applications covering both environmental contexts and Industry 4.0. Four Grenoble laboratories are involved: LJK, GIPSA-lab, 3SR, IGE.

    AMORE-MIO

Between 2020 and 2023, I was co-coordinator, with C. Bérenguer, of the project team AMORE-MIO (Advanced MethOds for Reliability and Maintenance Evaluation: Models, Inference, Optimization) of the LabEx PERSYVAL-Lab

    AMORE

Between 2016 and 2017, I was co-coordinator, with C. Bérenguer, of the exploratory project AMORE (Advanced MOdelling for Reliability and Maintenance Evaluation) of the LabEx PERSYVAL-Lab

    FIMA

Since 2014, I have been leading the project FIMA (Random Models for System Reliability and Maintenance) at the Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann. FIMA aims to federate research activities in reliability and maintenance in the Grenoble area. It is a place for meetings and exchanges between regional stakeholders involved in dependability research. Several academic laboratories (LJK, G-SCOP, GIPSA, INRIA, 3SR,...) and local companies (Schneider Electric, Thales Avionics, EDF, Biomérieux...) participate in FIMA. FIMA is a regional Rhône-Alpes working and reflection group of the IMdR: Institute for Risk Management.

PhD Supervision

  • - Since 2025: Co-supervision (50%, with C. Bérenguer as supervisor) of T. Berger: Taking into account different levels of information and maintenance effects in a multidimensional degradation process to optimize monitoring and maintenance policies, funded by the PRISM chair (MIAI.).
  • - 2022-2025: Co-supervision (50%, with O. Gaudoin as supervisor) of T. Cousino: Advanced recurrent event models and statistical inference for industrial asset reliability and maintenance: censoring, heterogeneity and Bayesian approach, CIFRE PhD with NATRAN .
  • - 2020-2024: Supervision (50%, with C. Bérenguer as co-supervisor) of M. Leroy: Degradation in presence of different types of maintenance: Modelling, inference and decision making, funded by the AMORE-MIO project team of PERSYVAL-Lab
  • - 2011-2014: Supervision (60%, with C. Bérenguer as co-supervisor) of L. Brenière: Modelling repairable systems reliability with joint effects of ageing, maintenance and heterogeneity for decision-making
